The exact difference varies too much to promise one number. Transport Canada has demonstrated the braking advantage in controlled winter testing. In one test using identical Ford Explorers on slippery snow-and-ice surfaces, the vehicle on winter tires repeatedly stopped in a shorter distance than the one on all-season tires.

With winter tires on all six wheel positions, it stopped an average of 5.6 metres shorter than with all-season tires on the front and winter tires on the rear. Why Speed Matters So Much on Snow and Ice
Winter tires improve available traction, but they cannot override physics. As speed rises, the distance required to stop increases rapidly. Snow, polished intersections, freezing rain, packed ice and changing surface conditions can reduce available grip even with excellent winter tires.
That is why Transport Canada advises leaving more following distance on slippery roads. Winter tires increase the margin available to the driver, but speed and following distance still have to match the conditions.
Does AWD or 4WD Help You Stop Faster?
All-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are useful for putting power to the road and helping a vehicle accelerate in low-traction conditions. They do not create extra tire grip during braking. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the tires still have to transmit braking force to the road.
