WINDSHIELD REPLACEMENT PROCESS
The vehicle is protected and required moldings or trim are removed. The damaged windshield is cut from the existing urethane bond. The pinch weld and bonding area are inspected before the new glass is installed.
Corrosion, damaged paint or poor previous glass work can change the scope because the urethane requires a suitable prepared bonding surface. The specified adhesive system is applied and the replacement windshield is positioned without contaminating the bonding surfaces.
A small stone chip may be repairable depending on its size, depth and location. Long cracks, edge damage, extensive impact damage or damage in critical viewing or camera areas can make replacement the better option.
